Through this program, qualified high school students can begin preparing for a Nursing Career by pursuing collegiate coursework—either online or in person—while simultaneously completing their high school requirements.
Students accepted for dual enrollment can choose to enroll part-time or full-time at any participating campus, provided they meet and maintain eligibility requirements and course prerequisites. For those residing in Tennessee, the Dual Enrollment Grant is available to fully fund these courses. Additionally, specific tuition assistance grants are funded directly to support students at the Asheville, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Orlando, or Pittsburgh locations. While digital textbooks may be available at no cost for certain courses, students who prefer physical copies are responsible for that expense.
To be considered for this early start to a Nursing Career, students must meet the following criteria:
1- School Approval: Provide written authorization from a designated school administrator (such as a guidance counselor or principal).
2- Parental Consent: Obtain written approval from a parent or guardian.
3- General Admission: Meet the standard admission requirements for the institution.
4- Academic Standing: Achieve and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 in high school work. An official transcript is required at enrollment and must be updated every quarter.
Dual Enrollment students must achieve and maintain a grade point average of 2.0 in Dual Enrollment courses completed.
Dual enrollment students are subject to the South College Satisfactory Progress Standards outlined in the institutional catalog.
Students may forfeit the privilege of participating in Dual Enrollment courses if they receive a grade below a C in their collegiate
coursework.
